Wild Salmon knotwork pattern
Wild Salmon knotwork pattern
Bright and cheerful, this fishy design is just plain fun to stitch. Vivid colours against a dark background and a quilt-like border make this design both interesting and enjoyable.
Wild Salmon finishes to about 2 and 7/8 inches by 3 and 3/4 inches. You will need to supply a 5 or 6 inch embroidery hoop and some embroidery scissors. You can use these little treasures as rugs for 1 inch scale doll houses, frame them or finish them into beautiful little cases to hold all kinds of neat stuff.
Miniature knotwork is a beautiful art form that also happens to be simple to do. Once you learn how to form the two knots that fill in the design, it is as simple as coloring in a coloring book. For people who like counted cross-stitch and other types of embroidery, these projects are a natural progression. They are also a good introduction to embroidery for the beginner.
