In Volume 8, Stars and Borders in Reticello, less complex designs are proposed than previous volumes. Giuliana explains where the "stars" in the title come from, and provides the structure and motifs of the ten different stars and the borders which make up the runners featured in the first section of the book.

Pictures, diagrams and scans are provided for reference, and show variations of the stars in different colours and on different fabrics.
