She ferries the souls to the realm of the afterlife through her majestic Balangay. But inspite of the dark association, Magwayen is a calm and nurturing provider of the fisherfolks. Well known as Deity of the Sea and the Underworld, her colors and intricacy reflect the diverse and rich heritage of Mindanao, an ode to of the great tribes of Maranaos and T’Bolis of Mindanao culture.

Finished project: 26cm x 42cm/10.3” x 16.7” when stitched on 18ct or over 2 on 36ct fabric.
