Job Postings
The Stitcher’s Muse Needleart is looking for up to three dynamic, enthusiastic individuals to add to our team! We’ve created three job descriptions for clarity, but some parts of each job may be transferable or combined with others, and some can be done from afar. Hours are variable and negotiable.
Our focus is on our customers, making their visit to our shop memorable and fun. This is extended to our frequent phone conversations and online communications with customers.
Assistant Manager:
Is this you or someone you know?
You are a creative person who loves to play with colour and texture. You enjoy all kinds of needlework techniques and know the difference between linen and Aida. You love connecting with people and helping them collect just the right materials for their project – from thread to fabric to notions to finishing supplies. You have an eye for design and arrangement.
Skills/Qualifications
- A sense of humor, common sense and positive attitude. Our brand is fresh, fun, creative, professional and unique. You will be the first point of contact with our customers and we want you to reflect those qualities too.
- Previous sales and/or customer service experience. Ability to balance sales skills with people skills.
- Multi-tasker and initiative taker. You know how to prioritize multiple customers in-store and online, data entry, tracking inventory and assisting with shop tasks. You have excellent time management skills.
- Organized and dynamic. You see how things could be done better, and you’ve got the courage to speak up with ideas for improvement. You can help others see your vision, work with a team, and make changes for the better!
- Flexibility and willingness to change as we grow and learn together. The Stitcher’s Muse is a small, established business on the brink of a growth spurt.
- Ability to bench press 200 lbs. Just joking, but you do need to be able to lift 10 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally, climb ladders and move racks and displays.
- Comfortable with computers and technology. Typing speed of at least 40 wpm.
