As with the other pieces in this series, it focuses on a motif and how many different ways the motif can be stitched. If you are new to this series, pineapples are a symbol of welcome so we welcome you to this great series. The turtle is done over 1 on the 32 ct Sand and made into a pin for the pincushion, but each little portion – eg either fish, seahorse, turtle etc. may be interchangeable and may be made into only 3 sections or use all 6 or 5 as shown in the photograph. This traditional band sampler is a tribute to a lovely Canadian publication. As you can see in published works, this piece was originally designed for the magazine – ‘A Needle Pulling Thread’. I wrote the poem to reflect the name yet still remind us of the charm that old, tried and true stitches hold for us.
A vintage style alphabet highlights this beautiful sampler featuring Quaker-style flowers in pots accompanied by smaller fun motifs. Model is stitched on Natural fabric with Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works cottons. The design size is 8 1/8 x 8 3/4" on 36 ct fabric.
The kit includes the 40 ct fabric and all the Tudor silks used to stitch this sweet little spring posey to make into a pincushion either on the wood piece built for it or in muffin tin etc. Prefinished wood base is available separately.

a sampler commemorating the Battle of Vimy Ridge: a World War 1 battle fought primarily by Canadian soldiers in France, and which has become a symbol of Canadian national achievement and sacrifice. It is stitched in silk, but overdyed cotton and DMC floss conversions will be available. It will be written in the JDD sampler style of writing little notes on why Jeannette used what she did in each row and the significance.
