Monet's Garden Canvaswork/Needlepoint Pattern

Modified Leaf stitches in Edmar's Bouclé forms the base of moss (or lawn), which is sprinkled with colourful wildflowers in Les Fils Pomme de Pin embroidery floss. Patches of earth and tree roots poking up through the moss are represented by Giant Leviathan stitches in Edmar's Nova. Trickles of dewdrops in Kreinik's 1.6mm metallic ribbon and dots of earth and twigs in Nova are stitched at the bases of the Modified Leaf stitches. The focal point is a Giant Walneto in Caron Collection's Watercolours underlaid with DMC Coton Perlé and crowned with a glass cabochon secured by a delicate spider web of Kreinik's Japan Silver. Surrounding the moss is a silvery border of 1.6mm ribbon representing the many streams and trickles found on most woodsy walks on the Island. A border of Nova on two sides simulates the banks of the stream. Caron Collection's Watercolours frames the composition and the edges are bound with Les Fils Pomme de Pin floss. Beads, French knots in Coton Perlé, and fly stitch in Rainbow Gallery's Petite Very Velvet – representing the many lichens that thrive in our Wild We(s)t Coast—add the finishing touch.
