Miniature knotwork is a beautiful art form that also happens to be simple to do. Once you learn how to form the two knots that fill in the design, it is as simple as coloring in a coloring book. For people who like counted cross-stitch and other types of embroidery, these projects are a natural progression. They are also a good introduction to embroidery for the beginner.
Includes a knotwork fabric with the design printed on it, instructions, and stitch diagrams for French and Colonial knots. If you need more help with how to make the knots, please visit Teresa's website teresalayman.com and click on the "How easy is it?" tab.
These projects are simple to stitch, but do require patience as the knots you are making are tiny... that's what makes that gorgeous texture. I find the time I spend stitching my little knots to be my therapy time. I just have to remember to get up and stretch once in a while!
The Hooters design finishes to about 3.375 inches by 2.375 inches. You can use these little treasures as rugs for 1 inch scale doll houses, frame them or finish them into beautiful little cases to hold all kinds of neat stuff.
