This traditional band sampler is a tribute to a lovely Canadian publication. As you can see in published works, this piece was originally designed for the magazine – ‘A Needle Pulling Thread’. I wrote the poem to reflect the name yet still remind us of the charm that old, tried and true stitches hold for us.
This pattern was originally taught at Acorns and Threads in Portland, OR. I have changed the middle to reflect a more general wording that we can all use, and it became the inspiration for a totally new series! It is what I seem to do best, mix old yet make new! Enjoy!
Design size: 127 x 99 (7 3/4" x 6" on 32 ct evenweave or 16 ct Aida)

The popular Once Upon a Tree pattern is now available for general release. It is a tree done in the 4 seasons of nature. Each season is done in different stitches and different colours. The tree trunk remains the same throughout. There is an embellishment pkg. available with all the threads and beads necessary to do the piece. They are skeined by season.
As with the other pieces in this series, it focuses on a motif and how many different ways the motif can be stitched. If you are new to this series, pineapples are a symbol of welcome so we welcome you to this great series. It fits into the same box used through out the series, the JD061 box from Olde Colonial Designs. Substitutes from P & G Enterprises are available for the box.
