We all had a great time, and Tanja was wonderful.  She actually managed to teach 5 different projects at the same time!  The Wild Rose thread painting was great, and some of her students’ work was lovely.  The Harebell, Tudor Rose, Tulip, and Still Life goldwork projects were lovely too, with a nice variety of background colours and thread colours being used.  To see photos, have a look at our Retreat 2011 Photo Gallery.

We had a lot of fun, though often we were so busy concentrating that you could hear a pin drop.  Many of us also “pigged out” on all the kits Tanja had brought along with her – I went home with a thread-painted fox and an interesting whitework project of a bird in a Jacobean tree – lots of interesting stitches and fillings!

Saturday night’s banquet was delish, with Pacific salmon or stuffed chicken breast. And a large piece of very good bread pudding for dessert! Yum!

Thanks to everyone who attended and made this such a great weekend.  I’m already looking forward to next year – any suggestions for instructor?
